She is of French German, Irish and Scottish heritage. Her family operated the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery established in 1847 in Erie Pennsylvania where her grandfather John Martin Magenau Jr. was the President and CEO before its demise in 1978. Jacobs began studying acting at the age of eight old and took Saturday class at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. She performed at Pittsburgh's Public Theatre. Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she took home the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest many times. Mt. Jacobs quit Lebanon High School for New York City, in 2000. She joined Group 33, the Drama Division of Group 33. The award for her bachelor's degree was given in the year 2004.
